The original snapshot. Harsh lighting, bad color, shiny face, unflattering outfit, costume jewelry. Despite that her self-assurance and height (6') give her a commanding presence.
The snapshot transformed into an elegant portrait from a different era, graceful and regal. I've given her real jewels and furs but her confidence and commanding presence remain unaltered.
Irreplacable images of deceased brother discovered on 35mm contact sheet circa 1973. No negatives or prints found.
Selected image (lower left corner) at its actual size overlaid on the image enlarged to a usuable size but unusable quality.
After extensive alterations the tiny image is now of sufficient size and quality to be used, with a 16:9 film ratio. Image quality is not the best but it suits my purpose.
The altered image in use as a promo poster for an independent black and white film set in 1969, with a grainy film quality like old news photos.
Bad lighting: washed out, blue tint.
Color corrected. No other adjustments or photo editing done except color.
